Trinity has many wonderful events throughout the year for all ages. Our Blessing of the Animals is an outdoor event in October where the congregation and Starkville community is invited to bring their animals (or a picture, collar) for a blessing. It is a joyful occasion where our animals receive their blessings, and pets and owners enjoy this lovely time outdoors.
In October we have a Halloween Trunk or Treat party for our children with treats, games, costume contest and delicious food. The children enjoy dressing up in their costumes and going from the trunk-to-trunk of our vehicles filled with candy and snacks. Afterwards into the Fellowship Hall for games, a costume contest and great food and fun!
We host a blood drive at the end of October for United Blood Services where many of our church donate their lifesaving blood to help others.
Throughout the year at Trinity we host Movie Nights for the children where they view delightful movies and enjoy meeting with their friends, new and old, and snacking on popcorn and drinks. The adults enjoy the movies too! We welcome the Starkville community to join us for these fun occasions!
We have a very popular yoga class that is well attended on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30 by yoga lovers from all over Starkville. Everyone is welcome! This class is suitable for young adults to seniors. It is a gentle yoga that is suitable for all ages, and everyone works at their own pace. No pressure, just good yoga stretching and fun! This is a very friendly group and a great place to meet new friends. You can bring your own yoga mat or use one of ours. Please view our calendar page in the navigation bar for further info.
On Wednesday mornings at 9 a.m. we have a Bridge Group that meets in the Fellowship Hall. Join us for a fun game and fellowship!
In November our congregation has a wonderful Thanksgiving potluck dinner with everyone joining in for fun, fellowship and great food! We have many get togethers throughout the year for meals and fellowship and our congregation is a very welcoming and supportive family.
Our December events include Christmas caroling, Adopt-a-Family, Salvation Army bell ringing, tree trimming, Christmas crafts to delivered to the community.
In January we have the Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans. Our worship service will include Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans, a celebration of Scottish heritage. Bagpiper Tim Gordon will be here. Invite a friend to this celebration.
During February, as we begin the season of Lent Trinity hosts one of Lenten Community Lunches at one of our local churches. The community is invited to these luncheons and they are attended by persons of all faiths.
In March Trinity will host its annual supper for the Collegiate Challenge group that will be helping Habitat for Humanity that week.
On Easter morning in April our Sunday Brunch occurs right after church. After the brunch the Youth lead an egg hunt for the children.
For Stewardship of the Earth Day, that Sunday we celebrate with an Earth Fair on the bridge. It’s an informal time to pick up, and exchange with others, hints for using the three R’s in our daily lives – Reduce, Reuse (or Repurpose) and Recycle.
In May we have a Mother's Day potluck in the Fellowship Hall after the service.
Each summer, we have a pancake supper and drum circle. A simple pancake supper is served first in the Fellowship Hall at 5:15 p.m. Robert Damm leads a drum circle program in the Sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. based around the theme “All are welcome.” Dr. Damm, a Professor in MSU’s Department of Music, brings an amazing variety of instruments and works hard to enable everyone to participate. It is a great experience of community.
